Souvenirs in the pretty beach state of Goa are of various types and are mostly made of easily available materials like coconuts, sea-shells, paper, beads and brass. The uniqueness of Goan crafts lies in Goa’s multicultural history. The crafts of Goa bear influences of Hindu, Muslim and Christian origins. However, instead of bearing the distinctive elements of each of these cultures, they present an artistic amalgamation of all three. Fascinating indeed! Here are some of the coolest things you can hope to find on your holiday to Goa.

Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan. It flourished quickly, fuelled by profits from opium, sandalwood, dates, and copper trade. The city has a charming blue tinge to it when viewed from above or from a distance, and makes a pretty mean picture. With its imposing Mehrangarh fort dominating the skyline, Jodhpur is hard to not be impressed by. The new city is definitely chaotic, but foray into the narrow lanes of the old city, and you’ll find pots, pans, idols, bejewelled fabrics, sensual spices, traditional clothes, ornaments and metalware all jammed between rows of shops, tinsel, stalls and hoards of haggling women! A shopper’s paradise, Jodhpur is famous for its richly carved furniture, metal arts, lahariya bandhini textiles and traditional footwear.(Photograph by Ss2107 on wikimedia commons)

Places to visit before they vanish! #5 Patagonia:Patagonia is a region shared by Argentina and Chile. This stunning place created by mother nature could be dramatically altered if climate change persists. Its glaciers are steadily shrinking because of rising temperatures and declining condensation. If Global warming grows at this rate this place and its landscape may soon be altered beyond recognition. Visit this stunning place before it vanishes!(Photograph by flickr user k1llYRid0ls)

Top 7 places to visit before they vanish! #1 The Alps On an average about 3 percent of glacier ice of the Alps is lost each year. That equals to almost 3.3 feet of ice thickness lost annually. If global warming persists at this rate then scientists have predicted that the famed glaciers should almost disappear by 2050. Experience wonderful snow-peaked mountains before global warming destroys this beautiful place! (Pic by flickr user John-Morgan)
